Re: More Complete List of Concept Series and Measurements Concepts Books
What site are you and Roy referring to? Please include context (we aren't mind readers) so we don't have to guess. Dennis Tillman W7PF

Re: FOLLOWUP RE: [TekScopes] If you own a 7854 READ THIS
Very late to the party (as usual...) I just had a thought I wanted to throw out there. My best understanding of the data sheet is that the 555 contact form is really just the 500 contacts with two

576 shaft repair
Apologies if this has come up before! I have a 576, and the plastic couplers for the Intensity and Focus knobs are, of course, broken. They look fairly hard to find, so I'm wondering what the best

Re: Absurdly simple way to get contact cleaner into some Tek pots
I have never seen any noticeable lingering effects from electronic cleaning solvents on the resistive elements. Most electronic cleaning agents evaporate and leave no residue. Even the solvents that

Re: Absurdly simple way to get contact cleaner into some Tek pots
Yes Gary, I ruined a pot years ago from carelessness. I am very very cautious now. You want to drill the outer cover but not let the drill enter into the pot itself at all.

Re: Absurdly simple way to get contact cleaner into some Tek pots
The cleaner will evaporate.? Its job is complete, which is to remove the dirt or dissolve the oxides.? The residue remains to fester and cause problems again, but for the most part is well out of

Re: Absurdly simple way to get contact cleaner into some Tek pots
This has been a very interesting thread on how to clean potentiometers, but there has been no mention of what happens after you get the cleaner/lubrication into the potentiometer. Do you leave the

Be careful where you drill that hole. It is easy to scratch and break the resistive element. It is best to find an old discardable identical potentiometer that you can open up to see where the

Re: Tektronix P6202 FET voltage probe tip problem
You're welcome. Glad to be of help. The probe is nice, good for full bandwidth on a 7A19 or 7A29. I prefer 7A29's because I think they're less prone to damage. The 7A24, which is good, has somewhat

To Jim & John: I just tried a 7B71/7B70 set in a 7904 (they were really meant for the 7704(A) but work fine in most any 7xxx mainframe). I've always found the trigger setting knob in these time bases

You can look at NTSC video (old analog video) with it. It is pretty much useless for anything else as it is a specialized instrument. It was the waveform monitor of choice back in the day when I was a

Ok, I can try that. I'll have to get another pulse generator than the calibrator to be steeper slope. Later today.

Re: 7B71 time base jittering at 50ns/div, but not other speeds.
You seem to say that it too sometimes displays the same behaviour, which is only natural, as may be deduced from what I wrote earlier. You are looking at a very slow ramp/edge, triggering a time base
