Re: Sources for Terminations
Let us not forget that not all terminations are equal. I will take example
of few terminations that Tek supplies:
011-0049-01 is good up to 500 MHz, then 011-0099-00 good probably to 250 MHz
and then

Re: Sources for Terminations
Deane Kidd sells Tek 011-0049-01 feedthrough terminators for about $10
when he has them.
Probemaster has one, model 1055, that sells for about $33.
They tend to turn up in scope cart drawers and

Vintage Tek scopes anyone
Anyone out there interested in adding some vintage Tek scopes (50x, 53x, 54x, 56x series) to their collections ? I've been offered a bunch, essentially for free. There are too many for my already

Re: Tek 585
I'm not sure who you were directing this message to Chuck, but I do have a type 82 plug-in that may be surplus to my needs. Possibly a manual for the 585 and the 82 too, but I'd have to look.

Sources for Terminations
I believe that a question did come up somewhere concerning where one
could buy an in-line termination. Besides the obvious expensive
source (http://www.tek.com), I believe you can get them from

Re: Tek 585
Hi,
I have a 585A too, bought it more for the nice (exotic!) inside than for the
nice outside... And I asked myself exactly the same question you are asking
yourself. In this way, it is not a fun

Hi,
What plug ins for the 585A do you have? Prices? Shipped from where?
Thanks.

Tek 585
Hello,
I am new in this group. I have bought an Tektronix 585A oscilloscope from the Swiss army. The condition is after 35 years storage in a air-conditioned fortress like ex works. It is a very good

Re: 465M Flaky vertical height.
That's what happened Doug. Tek bought Telequipment in late 1966 in order to capture some market share in the "low end" scope market - a market where Tek had no presence at that time. Telequipment

Re: Coax Termination - Circuit Loading?

Not really because the 547 calibrator is not capable of putting out 2 amps.
It has a rather high output impedance at 100 volts so the voltage will be way
below 100 volts.

Coax Termination - Circuit Loading?
I thank everyone who responded. Here's my next thought:
What about loading the test circuit? Suppose I connect a 50 ohm
terminated cable from my 547's calibrate-out jack to the 1A1's
input. With

5103N D10 intensity control help.
The intensity control makes no change. Traced the 3 wires and found 1 that has no connection. The other 2 are hooked to the beam finder and the hort. plug-in. Also the p/s volts are off and

Re: Coax BNC Cable Termination
Be careful using "network-grade" coax terminators for high-frequency RF.
The ones I've seen become reactive as heck above 50 - 100 MHz or so.
Unless you have a way to check their return loss at the

Basically, the phenomenon you're trying to avoid here is signal
reflection. What coax does is provide a path with a known
impedance to carry the signal from point to point without

Coax BNC Cable Termination
A few months ago, Dean Huster had included the following in a post:
"You don?t HAVE to use a termination on coax if it?s a low-frequency
signal. For high-frequency or fast-pulses, yes, you must
