Re: 7613 X-deflection issue
Can we confirm the problem is not in one if the plug-ins?

Re: 7613 X-deflection issue
Hi , I would be thinking of returning the 7613 as that seems possible . I would be very happy to get a 7834 with plug-ins of any kind for as little as that - as long as the HV is ok and the CRT shows

Re: 7613 X-deflection issue
Hi Brian,
Thank you for your assistence! That is the point. If the CRT is damaged then the 7613 as a complete device will be lost. I try to contact the seller, a former Tektronix employee directly,

Re: 7S12 offset/amplitude problem
I acquired an S-2 last week that showed expected behavior in the 7S12, so this assumption turned out to be bad. However, I also tried the S-4 again, and it mysteriously started working, which gave me

Re: 7613 X-deflection issue
Hi , I cant think of any other suggestions at the moment , I would be inclined to remove the CRT to check the deflection assembly for cracked or broken supports - but thats hard work and that area may

Re: 7613 X-deflection issue
Hi Brian,
Trace rotation controlpot can help to make a tilted ?vertical¡° line to a really vertical line. The flanges of a squarewave signal can be corrected, however, however, the flat portions

Re: 7613 X-deflection issue
Hi , it seems that my idea is not the problem . I noticed someone suggested the trace rotation control - I assume you have already tried that , did it have any effect ? .

Re: Tektronix 145 PAL test signal generator - service manual needed
Hello H?kan
That would be very nice... maybe the Tek Wiki and other community members would also be happy to have it on file?
Take your time though, it's not urgent.

I have the manual. I could try to scan it within the next few days and post back when it's done.

Re: Tektronix 145 PAL test signal generator - service manual needed
I see... with international shipping this would be around 70-80€ shipped.
Frankly, I don't want to spend that much only to find out it can't be repaired anyway. It was sort of trash picked and two

Re: 7613 X-deflection issue
Hi Brian,
Velocity modulation of the X signal by trigger signals will appear as a non linear sawthooth signalx at the X amp output/X plates. However, the increasing/decreasing X sawthooth signals

Re: 2GHz+ probe for TDS794D, recommendations?
Thanks for those links Craig.
The Wilson's proves once more that a well compensated passive probe of some hundreds ohms and a fraction of pF is both cheap, very usable and easy to build.
The one I

Re: 7613 X-deflection issue
Hi Jean-Paul,
If you adjust rotation control trimmpot you will surely get real vertical flanges of a square wave signal. However, the flat portions of the square wave signal will also rotate and

Re: 7613 X-deflection issue
Hi Jim,
X-Y-Mode or generally swapping Y and X seems to be a good idea, also magnetic coupling perhaps by a wire.
However, I checked the situation already with stationary DC signals. I measured the X

Re: 475 Not Triggering -- need help
It was a little tricky to find, but I did find the 475 SN B250000 and up Service Manual. Mine is in the B259xxx range.
One detail: R916 in mine appears to be the older 0.5W resistor that overheats.

Re: AM501 user manual call for a Differential comparator, exactly what is ment by this?
Meny Thanks Dan, I kinda thought so, but thought it best to ask, since I no
longer have a 7000 series scope or 5000 series lest alone the Differential
amplifiers for those scopes, I guess the Am 502

This piqued my curiosity recently: https://www.hackster.io/news/unlock-high-frequency-oscilloscope-signals-with-james-wilson-s-2ghz-active-probe-920862e71319
And it's been a few years for Doug Smith
