Re: 2465 Delta Cursor not visible FIXED
FIXED!!!! The problem was indeed a faulty U850B (4053B). I removed the A1 (an interesting challenge!!!), de-soldered the chip and inserted a socket and removed a 4053 from a parts mule and hey

Re: Tek DSA8300 sampling scope discontinued
As far as I know, to who I am also directly affected. The 8300 as well as the 80E, 80A and 80O modules will be discontinued and won't have a direct successor. There is the 8 Series Sampling Scope but

Re: DSA power supply random shutdown - any known problems?
Martin, Check/replace the caps in the startup circuit. As you said, the small values can give problems. Small value tantalums, if this uses them in this area, could be high ESR or open. Film types

Tek DSA8300 sampling scope discontinued
Has anyone more information on the future of the TEK DSA8300 sampling scope series? TEK seems to discontinue the whole seires including sampling heads.

Re: DSA power supply random shutdown - any known problems?
Hello Vincent, you are right in the assumption that the power supply has not been recapped. At least not by me. Of course recapping might correct the issue, but I do not think its the large caps that

Re: DSA power supply random shutdown - any known problems?
Martin, I do not have one of these, I would like to. Going on an assumption, please no flaming from others who can/will correct me, I will assume the unit has not been recapped. If that assumption is

Re: 2445 PSU NTC inrush limiters
Thanks Mark I went with the 5¦¸/8¦¸ ones in the end, plus, FWIW worth some new 15¦¸ resistors as well though I agree, they were not shown in the 2445 service manual that I have, but *are* in the

Re: TM500 MANUAL FOR SPARAMETER test set
Whoa! That's a novelty for sure. I am willing to be surprised but I don't think Tek made such a P/I. I think many of us would love to see the innards.

Re: 2445 PSU NTC inrush limiters
Paul, The NTCs can be CL60 each. For when one is used, I usually use CL70. You could get 8ohm types to put in the scope. I do not see the purpose of the resistors across the NTCs as you also said. My

Re: Hakko 470 Problems
You won't get a huge amount of pulling force with a vacuum desoldering iron. It's a very small surface area. They need good flow more than huge pull. That's why it's important to get a good tight seal

Re: Hakko 470 Problems
Yes, I would want to run it with filters in place. Unfortunately, the Filter Retainer (B1030) is missing and I'm not finding much in the way of replacements for that. I do have the A1030 but the

Re: Hakko 470 Problems
The Hakko 470 manual (https://manual-hub.com/manuals/hakko-470-01-pdf-manual/) indicates two filters ¨C part numbers A1009 & A1033. Googling those part numbers brings up many distributors who still

Re: 2465 Delta Cursor not visible
Interesting. You should also be able to see whether this is U850B or back-feeding from U900 DR without desoldering. If you engage double delay sweep, I figure the display sequencer should be toggling

Barry, I've had several of the similar 472 units for several decades, and can maybe offer some insight here. First thing to do is to ensure that there is no crud buildup inside of the tip or the

DSA power supply random shutdown - any known problems?
Hi, recently my DSA602, due to power supply shutdown, required 3 attempts to start up successfully. Some minutes later it had a short power-out during operation that made the user interface stall. A

2445 PSU NTC inrush limiters
Hi all As I might have mentioned I have another sick 2445, this time probably U800 as no horizontal deflection (but I *might* have a U800 in one of the parts 'scopes I also still have). Anyway,

Jean-Paul, I agree. I think its best to live with a 3db loss than finding the right connector to buy! Thanks.

Re: P6015A HV probe, trimpot R7 value?
Yeah, I read the same. Butane has a similar vapor pressure to Freon so it apparently works well, up to and in excess of the working voltage of the probe. However, the flammability is a

I didn't notice much residue on the valves but I do notice that they're made of a white material and the replacements I'm seeing are clear. That might not indicate anything unordinary but I'm
