Re: tek 577 non linear behavior in both vertical and horizontal deflection amplifiers
Just my 2 cents. First 200V is sitting on top of 30V, so make sure to look at 30V (since your 200V is high). Look at voltage ripple on the big rectifier caps, maybe they are dried out. I see that they

Re: Tek 7L5 for Sale
Niels, I concur with Miguel's estimate. I've bid on a couple of these over the past few months on eBay, and they've all gone for more than $200 (US). The asking prices are upwards of $500, and that is

Re: OT: PID motor control
You're overthinking it. Most of the time you can tune a PID controller manually with way less effort then it would take to model the system mathematically and then prove that the model is correct. For

Re: Tek 7L5 for Sale
I would be interested too! Any photos? I would rather say around 400 euros. I've seen quite a few 7L5 sold for more or less 300 euros on ebay.

Also needed motor-load gearing constants, inertias of moving parts, angular resolution (encoder or motor poles number), overall realistic system specs ("just exactly what are you trying to achieve")

Re: tek 577 non linear behavior in both vertical and horizontal deflection amplifiers
I have a 577 that is a very early serial number "B0100124" and it has some issues with convergence of the calibration. I have tracked this down to lots of out of spec components on the analog board

Re: 2445B "add" illuminated, no trace.
On the contrary, both timing generation and vertical amplification are controlled by voltages from the DAC, as are the cursors, the trigger voltages used for automated measurement and so on. If you

Re: OT: PID motor control
Dear David I am sure that you can easily solve this without consultants. PID motor control is a classic application of control systems theory. I took the course in 1965. We used a bode plotter from

Re: OT: PID motor control
Practical tuning issues. In a nutshell I can arrive at some setting for the PID coefficients that work for a step movement of say 2 revolutions of the motor, but don't work for 20 revolutions, or 200

Seems sensible - that said I'm not sure the DAC generates any signals critical to the measurement accuracy of the 'scope (or is there something that I missed?). -- Paul
