Thanks for the suggestions. 1. Supply voltages check: I remeasured the supply voltages (I repaired these earlier including rectifier diodes and a filter cap). +270V, +15V, -30V all perfect, no ripple.

Did you include the bypass capacitors on the photo-voltaic bias outputs? There should be one across each, so four altogether. They are essential for best noise performance. Ed
