Hey! Don't muck with the DAC adjustment, unless you are prepared to do a full calibration! It is not supposed to be +1.25 and -1.25 volts, but rather a 2.500V span. Sure, if you are a

Particularly if you live in an area with nearby FM broadcast transmitters, the average scope probe will pick those up quite well :^) dr

Re: 556 A Sweep Won't Trigger
It seems to me like when the trigger knob is in these positions that cause the sweep to free-run, the impulses through T555 ultimately cause Q615 to saturate, putting the scope into the same state as

Re: 475 Manual with Voltages/Waveforms?
The Schematics .pdf on the TekWiki site is good but it is for the A scope; any pointers to the 475 itself. Guess still very useful anyway. Am I missing something? Thank you.

Re: They¡¯re Both Dead Jim
The shack heater reference made me recheck the model number - I made a typo...they are actually 455s! Weird ¡°60s modern¡± style front panel shape, asymmetrical to boot! Now my 535A, that¡¯s a

Yes, I think Chuck (or someone else) pointed this out earlier in the thread. The wider bandwidth the more noise in the trace, this is normal on any scope afaik. --Toby

Re: Tek 585A - Scope repair UPDATE
Your issue 1. has not been addressed yet. The diagram around K600 is somewhat mysterious. Forget the text "to term. 12". The relay tube is probably either a 18NO45T or a 6NO45T. Only in the latter

I agree, possible power supply related issues, including hose are indeed usually straightforward. Thanks for the link to a manual!
