575 - advice sought from owners
I've just bought (but not yet collected) a 575, I think the 400V option. I suspect it's been stored several years unused. This will be my first piece of Tek valve kit (apart from a 130). Is there an

Re: Extenders for 27xx Spectrum Analyzers and 7K scope needed
I recently purchased a set of extenders for the 49x series from Norway Labs in OR. Link: http://www.norwaylabs.com/ $110 for a set of three + shipping. Not sure if these work for the 27xx series. One
Re: Tek 465B blurred channel 1 trace
A muti-meter reads in RMS volts, which will always be lower than a scope measurement, which is Peak-Peak. However, if you rotate the Vert Variable knob fully CCW, it will give a close approximation to

Re: Calibrating 1L5
Yeah I didn't notice that feedback from this discriminator, which in any case I don't understand how it works. The waveform shown in the schematics looks shaped to me. Whatever is doing this shaping

Re: Questions on 547 and OS-245
Thank you for this information guys. I was also reading in the user manual that it's designed to a milspec that certifies it to run in a wider temperature range (coldest to hottest)... not that that

Re: Questions on 547 and OS-245
The OS-245 has no fan, I don't know if that is the same for the 7603? One detail that is different is that the OS245 has a CTR with a border around it outside the grid, they call it overscan area or

Re: Extenders for 27xx Spectrum Analyzers and 7K scope needed
David The PC Board extenders for the 27XX ( and 49x series as well) are Tektronix part numbers 670-5562-00 and 670-5563. If you google either of those numbers it will lead you to a company in Downers

Re: Questions on 547 and OS-245
The OS-245 has a militarized gray cabinet with excellent louvers. It is the same as a 7603N (i.e., no readout). I have one (but, like many things, don't need it).

If you need plugin extenders, supply them for 7k scopes: https://www.ecosensory.com/tek/tek_7K_flex_sales_blurb.txt -- John Griessen -- building lab gear for biologists Ecosensory Austin TX

Re: Calibrating 1L5
The 549 works perfectly. I have checked linearity of the time matk generator & it is spot on. You may well be correct in that the 50+ year old varactor diode has changed some of its charastics. I

Re: Calibrating 1L5
Not sure it is as sophisticated as you think! everything done as you suggest, and will look as you also suggest @ D164 waveform. In some way the tail end of the dispersion linearity falls away - will

Re: Help needed with no trace no beamfinder on 465 (not b)

Re: Help needed with no trace no beamfinder on 465 (not b)
Hi Keith, In your very first message you mentioned amplitude about 1.5 V pp at Q1418-collector. The pp amplitude at the base winding will be half or one third or so of that at the collector winding.

If you can get boards made and locate the relevant connectors, I can send you gerbers for the 7854 extenders. Dave

Re: Help needed with no trace no beamfinder on 465 (not b)
Hi Keith, In my opinion the voltages around Q1404 (E 3.24, B 3.88, C 3.25.) are more or less "normal" when there is no HV voltage. Q1404 is driven far into saturation (trying hard... as Raymond said).

Re: Tek 7a13 mechanical to LED display conversion ? / 7ct1n user notes ?
I've never heard of that, but I suspect that it's much too much of a job, never had a mechanical 7A13, went for the digital ones. OK, the 7CT1N can be used in either the vertical or horizontal slot.
