Newer systems use a recovery partition instead of a CD or DVD. But you can make a bootable USB flash drive from the recovery partition, and you should do that in case your hard drive fails. Windows

Bob, I think that I may have a Dell recovery disk. If I do I can make a copy and send it to you. It will only work on a genuine Dell computer. There is a hidden partition on the hard drive with the OS

I bought mine for 80 euro's at the largest electronics fair in the Netherlands. It was 120, but nobody wanted it. At the end i offered 80 and that was accepted. Came with a new matching probe too :).

Hi Ron, I put 2 passwords on my laptops, 1 is for BIOS/HD, this prevents a computer from booting to windows and 1 password for windows. Between the two, it defeats 99.99% of unauthorized users.
