Re: Cheap Probes
I have some similar 100 MHz x1/x10 switchable probes for my various 100 MHz oscilloscopes and they work and test fine. I have some faster 250 MHz x10 probes for my 2440 which is 300 MHz and they test

Re: TM500 plugin..why&what this like "banana plug" screwed in the rear end..?
The screw "plug" grounds the metal frame of the plugin to the chassis of the TM500 Power Module as well as aligning it.

Re: Cheap Probes
I have to say that I disagree with this. I think that the main difference between Tek probes and cheap ones is frequency response flatness and consistency from probe to probe. Of course more expensive

Richard, This is the split screen storage version of the 577, and unfortunately the pictures do not give information on the health of the instrument. Both photos were ta

Re: Is this Tektronix 577 CRT kaput?
It is interesting that the seller of this 577 has it listed as "Used", which by definition says that it "functions as intended", but then has a huge disclaimer at the bottom of the auction listing

Interesting 7K Extenders on eBay
I just ran across this interesting implementation of extenders for Tektronix 7000-series 'scopes. Made by Maytek. Has anyone ever used these? Ebay item #290878562763 DaveD

Re: Is this Tektronix 577 CRT kaput?
My 466 (storage oscilloscope) is also certainly not even when it's flooded, although it's brighter in the middle than the edges. It still works just fine, even with the uneven flood. I would say that

Re: TM500 plugin..why&what this like "banana plug" screwed in the rear end..?
Hi Jerry ...thanks for your answer... .The TM501 mainframe power transistor (Power supply) not was moved, Since the pin alignment interfere with the screw body I just unscrew , and invert nut/screw

Re: Cheap Probes
I bought a bunch of cheap probes about a year ago. I use them to spare the Tek probes wear and tear when I do not need the bandwidth. They work fine with my 485, my 453 and my Iwatsu SS-5710. As with

Re: Cheap Probes
They are quite useful but not by any means perfect for any Tek scope that requires the read out pin which these lack. That said, I use them with my SC502 and the switchable ones all the time with my

Re: TM500 plugin..why&what this like "banana plug" screwed in the rear end..?
Hi Gabriel, The pin povides a bit of insurance against misalignment of the connector. I would leave them when possible. I suspect the transistor mentioned need to be moved. Jerry Massengale

Re: Is this Tektronix 577 CRT kaput?
It is the split screen storage version of the 577. First thing is that he has set it up wrong, so all you are seeing is the flooded screen. Second thing is that he has selected a high voltage (1000V),

Re: TM500 plugin..why&what this like "banana plug" screwed in the rear end..?
The "banana plug" is actually a mating pin. If you look inside one of your TM50x mainframes, you will see a circular fitting just behind and to the left of the slot guide. The circular fitting mates
