Re: Peak Detector to Validate Tek Const. Ampl. Signal Gen. (067-0532-00)
I have a local e-waste disposal point near me, run by the county. I¡¯ll have to check, but I¡¯d bet that they can handle mercury without much fuss. ¡ª Jeff Dutky

Re: 2465 Calibration
Hi Greg, I have not seen any en-masse R/E/W refresh behavior for the ER1400 in the 2465. Most (or all) of the ER1400 is read on boot to verify the checksum but that probably doesn't count as a

Re: Tek 284 Pulse Gen
I will check them out. I have a mini circuits DC block for the spectrum analyzer that is really nice. Was reasonable priced, As reasonably priced as a DC block well in to the Ghz can be. If that is

Re: Peak Detector to Validate Tek Const. Ampl. Signal Gen. (067-0532-00)
I had to check w/Wikipedia, but it says the open circuit voltage of a mercury cell is 1.35 V, and that they hold their voltage very level for most of their lifetime, so perhaps 1.25 is near end of

Re: Tek 284 Pulse Gen
I second Jim's recommendation. In addition to better pricing, Mini-Circuits just has nicer folks. Pasternack once actually made one of my former admins weep. She had never been so mistreated by a

Re: Tek 284 Pulse Gen
Hey, Zen, if you want to buy new 3.5 mm to SMA adaptors, check out Mini-Circuits.? A couple years ago I needed some for work and found the M-C ones about a third the price of rip-off Pasternack.?

Re: Tek 2232 Scope
I've seen somebody on the eevblog forums had the same failure, he ended up soldering the wires directly to the board underneath.

Jim, Both versions of the manual state that the batteries should be replaced ¡°when the voltage drops below 1.33 V, or after one year¡± but I will try adjusting the unit with the current batteries

Re: 2465 Calibration
Mark, The spec on the GI ER1400 data sheet does indicate that the data is retained for a minimum of 10 years but does not indicate if that is when the device is never accessed/written to over that

Tek 284 Pulse Gen
I've recently acquired a 284 that seems to need some TLC. Before I start snooping around in it, I'm wondering if there are any "usual suspects" that I should consider. Besides all the electrolytic

Re: Peak Detector to Validate Tek Const. Ampl. Signal Gen. (067-0532-00)
!.25 V sounds just about right for a mercury cell, but low for an alkaline.
