Re: A problem filled FG507
If it's those gold PCB mount flat spring contacts used in the cam switches, the Tek approved way of cleaning them is with plain white paper. You don't want any residue left on them at all or you'll

Mystery Probe Accessory Grab Bag 'o Fun
I've been trolling the "pile of miscellaneous parts" auctions/sales on eBay in an attempt to cheaply bulk up my supply of consumable probe accessories, and I hit a few jackpots, but now I need some

Re: 2235 Horizontal Calibration Issue
The great thing about vintage test equipment (especially older Tek's) is there is so much details about their construction and schematics. Surprisingly schematic of U760 is also available. If you

Re: 2235 Horizontal Calibration Issue
Even if 2235¡¯s were more available, I wouldn¡¯t buy one just for this. Not worth it... The horizontal A4 board if I found one, if the price was right, yes. I have plenty of other scopes. Is there

Re: 2235 Horizontal Calibration Issue
Ozan, I¡¯m going to recheck all the voltages. Even those at Q770, Q780, and VR764. I¡¯ll report back.

Re: New cable for Tek P6042 current probe?
There is no modern replacement AFAIK, it is unique to Tektronix. But I don't see why a new cable can't be made with modern things like flex heat shrink tubing and single wires. My 6042 stopped

Re: 2235 Horizontal Calibration Issue
Hi Jeff, As Stephen wrote 2235 is his scope. He is unfortunately (or fortunately, Paris is very nice) in Paris so I don't know the availability of 2235s. I am hoping U760 is still good. Ozan

Hi, I would check if the wires to the deflection plates are still properly connected to the CRT. Leo

Re: New cable for Tek P6042 current probe?
Hello Stefan where are you located I may have it, contact me off list via PM. By the way the 6042 suffers from flaky transistor sockets and very unstable DC offset. Kind Regards Jon

Re: 2235 Horizontal Calibration Issue
Hi Stephen, Yes, Paris would be a bit far :) In the pictures you are still getting the sweep right of mid point. U760 is pretty symmetric inside so I would expect any damage to distort the whole

Re: A problem filled FG507
Hi Eric, You've got a problem with the capacitance multiplier somewhere (that's where you've been looking, I presume -- U1930 and U1940). That circuit is engaged only at the lower multipliers. The

Re: 2235 Horizontal Calibration Issue
Jeff, It¡¯s not Ozan¡¯s scope, it¡¯s one of mine. I hope U760 is not dead... ? I just went to the Qservice site, and that A4 board is out of stock.

Re: [dead tek 485] Can i fix it ? (newbie here)
Hi Jos¨¦, If you change the frequency from 1KHz to 50 Hz how change the screen? It seems also that it is a blanking trouble for retrace/stop sweep. Best regards Alain Nota: I didn't resist to

New cable for Tek P6042 current probe?

Re: 2235 Horizontal Calibration Issue
Ozan, Sorry to hear that U760 may be dead. The good news is that 2235's are common as dirt. You should be able to get a replacement fairly inexpensively, even if that replacement comes surrounded by
