Spoke too soon... there was one on FleaBay, shipped for $32. Pounced on that, like a duck on a June bug!

Well, during the reconnoitering to figure out where the black wire would be reconnected... the already too short red (actually, orange) wire broke yet again!? Now, it is too short to solder to. Why didn't Tek put a plug on the back of this fan?????? With all the extraordinarily well designed wiring in this scope, I can't wrap my head around them making it IMPOSSIBLE to remove this fan motor for maintenance!!!? #@%&*

Anybody have a 147-0027-00 fan motor, or a suggestion?

Hi Matt:

I removed two of the screws on the power transformer on my 575 and put two
3AG fuse holders, one on the side of the transformer and, the second on the
front of the transformer. Slightly longer 6-32 screws are
necessary. I unsoldered the leads from pins 14 and 16 and put them in
series with the new fuses. I also added LED's each in series with a 1K
resistor around the fuse block contacts. Now if the fuse blows the LED
lights. A rectifier in series with the LED is not necessary as the voltage
across the LED is AC.

It's odd. I'm on a number of groups.io lists and the only time I've ever seen a dupe was when someone resent their own message. But on every one of those lists there are a few people that have complained about getting dupes.

Re: c-clip pliers

When you reply to the groups from your email provider for instance yahoo.com, rather than at the groups.io website, Yahoo (or whatever you use) records the message you sent, but groups.io also sends you the message you just sent as if someone else had posted it. If you look at the two emails, you'll notice one says sent by you, and the other one came from groups.io.
People who do post from the groups.io website rather than their email address might prefer their posts to be sent to their email address, so there is some reasoning for this. However it's a pain for the users who want to use groups.io the same way they used the Yahoo group. Groups.io errs on the side of having a redudant copy rather than potentially having missing post records.
If you want to stop it you can click the link at the bottom of the other person's post that says "view/reply online". This will take you right to a page on groups.io where you can reply (you might have to sign in if you don't have the site set to recognize you automatically). I don't know of a way get around the duplication issue when sending posts using email. On Saturday, March 31, 2018, 1:21:17 PM CDT, Phillip Potter <p.potter@...> wrote:

Greetings,

Allow me to suggest www.mcmaster.com<> (McMaster Carr).

They offer a variety of sizes under ¡°snap ring pliers¡± and ¡°fixed tip retaining ring pliers¡±

Additionally Amazon offers a 4 piece mini snap ring pliers set for about $9.00. Seller: JR Quality Tools (no affiliation)

Looking through Amazon, there are numerous snap ring pliers and sets.

Good shopping!

Re: 453 scope fan wiring help needed!

The manual that I have is three wires. I¡¯m wondering if one is chassis from the case. Time for an ohm meter and check what the resistances are. Two should have the coil between them. One should be 0 ohms to one of the coil and coil ohms to the other. If the 4th is chassis then it should only go to the can.
