Huntron Tracker's days are numbered (was: 7704A -just a quickie)
The underlying idea behind the Huntron Tracker is an old one and there are many circuit variations on the internet if anyone is interesting in building one or adapting their scope to do the same

Re: 2215A with no sweep
The trigger light does come on in P-P auto but of course, no trigger is present. I can get both channels to put a spot on the screen and both will move both vertically and horizontally with the

Re: 2215A with no sweep
Tom's settings are good, I'd add turning up the intensity for good measure. You are correct to consider the trigger circuits as the problem in addition to the timebase. no trigger equals no sweep. If

Re: 2215A with no sweep
Hi Tom, Since I have no sweep, I have no waveforms on any of the pins you mention. I am now checking resistors, diodes and voltages on all of the trigger and sweep circuits but so far, I haven't

Hi Keith, The good news is that you can list your Tracker on Ebay for $400 and get most of the money you paid for the entire lot back. Dennis Tillman W7PF

Re: 7704A -just a quickie
Hi Mike, For many years I searched Ebay for a Huntron at a reasonable (<$200) price since, I thought, I must be missing something important. Fortunately I never found one at a price I could justify.

Re: 2215A with no sweep
Hi Steve, I know very little about any of this... but.. I was just experimenting with a 2215A and a 2235A that had the outer covers off, to see how they acted and what I could easily check. Using

Re: 7704A -just a quickie
FWIW, Heathkit made one with a solid line on one channel and a dashed line for the other. Better than the Huntron in my opinion. ?Nicer than the?filament transformer and?a few parts I first used

Re: 7704A -just a quickie
Having just watched a youtube video about a guy who happily paid $200 for one, I don't feel too bad. I think I paid 50 on top of a Tek 2230 for the Tracker 2000 and IIRC, the Tracker 1000 was free

Re: 2215A with no sweep
Hi Tom, Thanks for the reply. I am a bit puzzled by this one. I have a great 465B (which I'm using to try to fix the 2215) and a 2232 storage scope that works fine. This one is a puzzle. When I

Re: 2215A with no sweep
Hi Steve, I'm a fan of many of the small 22xx oscilloscopes. The 2213A and 2215A are my favorites to learn with, and then you have a fine general purpose scope for simple use. It's like an

Re: Shelled Cracked 7603 CRT
They have epoxy kits for fixing chips in windshields that might work to fix your cracked glass. Couldn't say as far as implosion goes.

Re: tek 465 no sweep question
The reason there is no auto sweep is because the trigger kicks in right after power up, The trigger lamp is always on, even in auto mode with no signal applied. I'm going to check the whole trigger

Re: tek 465 no sweep question
If I have this right, the OP said 1kHz in looked like 730Hz on-screen, which would put the zero crossings too far apart. It would seem that the effective sweep is too fast, not too slow. Ed
