Re: Dallas Chips and battery backup
Ahhh....That makes sense for the smaller 32k part. For the larger DS1486 there really isn't a replacement that would work.
I've worked this DS1486 issue for quite some time now...and there really

Thanks, everyone, for the replies and the help.
I will probably scan the cards in order to have the artwork saved away and then figure out a way to add tabs to my set using the information about the

Re: Dallas Chips and battery backup
I only made a suggestion for the smaller 32k x 8 NVRAM.
I saw the post about the two different 256k x 8 NVRAMs and looked them up.
Reading their web site again, I see that Maxim suggests using the

Re: Dallas Chips and battery backup
David,
What alternative did you suggest? I looked back at the threads and I see the DS1644 and DS1744 mentioned, but neither of those have the full 256K that the DS1486 does.

and condition them to no combined shipping discounts, and all

That change was a predictable result of seller behavior. When there
was no commission on shipping, the volume fixed price sellers were

Re: OT RANT eBay
Yes. The trouble is some sellers want to make sure they get a decent price so inflate the shipping charges whilst starting the item at a low price. The shipping charges quoted aren't a true reflection

I rarely sell on eBay, last time goes back 2-3 years.
Seems now they gouge a final value fee on the SHIPPING charges?????

Re: Dallas Chips and battery backup
I looked at the datasheets and I do not see how this could work either. The
