I don't know of any other groups like this one dedicated to Tek scope, but you should look at my and Bill DenBeste's web page at <www.reprise.com> if you have not seen it already. We have BIG plans for that site. All we need is the time to implement them. Keep watching . . . Rear cover 2235
Rick Davis
I need the rear plastic cover for a 2235.
Could swap other parts from a 2235 just to make it interesting (front cover, handle, misc. circuit boards, components???) or Federal Reserve notes if you insist. Also, has anyone found a source for that magic blue paint they used on the covers? I could use a can or two of that too. Thanks Rick rdavis@... |

Who wants a 502A?
Michael Dunn
I have a pair of Tek 502As (nice blue dual-beam, 1MHz, hi-sensitivity diff. inputs). One is the older style, with ceramic strip construction of the input amps. Space is tight, and I'm thinking of stripping this one for parts, unless someone wants to offer me a decent amount for it (manual can be included)...

RANTS!
Michael Dunn
This is to officially announce the posting of my RANT page. If you care, here's where to find it:
As the heading says: Okay, I'm giving in to self-indulgent rambling. Here's my long-awaited list of Rants, Screw-Ups, Scams, Stupidity, and sundry Bad Things, for your amusement and my mental health. Sorry about the pictures. Only about 250K total... md |
"Bookmarks" at the Yahoo site
Michael Dunn
One of the features of the TekScopes site at YahooGroups is a "Bookmarks" section, where we can enter web links of interest. Walter has already put his site address there. Anyone else with a Tek-related site -- feel free to put yours there too!

New group features
Michael Dunn
As some of you already know, eGroups has now been folded into the Yahoo groups family. If you're solely an e-mail user, don't worry, you don't have to change anything.
If you use the web site, you'll probably need to do some housekeeping next time you connect. It's not TOO painful. The good news is, there are some new and useful web features: 1. When looking at the message list, you can expand it to show the full text of messages, not just the headings. Almost as good as an archive, which unfortunately is still absent. You can select how many messages are displayed in your preferences. 2. Even better, there's now a search function (I guess eGroups had something too, but it didn't seem to work very well if I recall). Type in a search term (e.g., Vineland, MkIV, SQ, 549 :-), and up pops a message list with all messages containing the term... Big Tek parts Index is on line now
walter shawlee
We finally organized and posted all our Tek semiconductors,
along with cross ref data, and they are now on line here: we will keep adding more parts categories, like controls, knobs, etc. as time permits. hope this is helpful to everybody. we will keep adding more cross-ref data for those who just need to know what is what, and can get the parts locally. all the best, walter |
8608
Michael Dunn
Yoohoo. I got a pair of NOS, Tek-boxed 8608 tubes for the vertical of my 556! They work great. Has anyone else had an 8608 fail on them. My bad one had a grid short. I noticed it because the vertical position knob acted like a light dimmer, making the tube glow incandescent white depending on the setting!!!
