Re: Help with R7903 needed, some success...
Some time after my first response to Jim Powell's comment I decided to re-look around, and I discovered that I only needed to remove the bottom panel in order to see the end of the CRT. Not sure why I

Re: Tek 465B Price
They routinely go for $100-$120 at hamfests in the pacific northwest. (475/475A go for about $200). You willget a better price at a hamefest of craiglist, as on e-bay you are competing with everyone

Thanks guys on the impromptu training on the 7854. I had thought to be helpful but I should have checked for similarities first before posting. At least it is good to hear that if/when I finally get

Re: 7704A repair attempt, 155-0013-00 U2530
Are you double sure the connector between the bottom half and top half is plugged in tight, all associated connections/pins are tight, clean, etc.? All of my 7704A's had strange 'issues' at first.

Re: Tek 465B Price
Currently I've seen reconditioned 465's in very clean condition selling for between $250-500 (really!) on ebay.

I'd like to thank Casey for posting here; at least there's a fighting chance somebody with the proper inclination and skill will see it AND lives close enough to adopt it. Google says Scotts Mills is

7704A repair attempt, 155-0013-00 U2530
Hello, I bought a broken 7704A. The question: anybody knows the function of the 155-0013-00 IC ? Is possible to build an equivalent device, or to test one comparing it to another one? I have tree of

Re: TDS 540 scope needs help
I find it most unlikely that both these chips have died. The outputs of these, as you marked, are 250 MHz ECL. The inputs (ACQCLK) are also as you marked but are 250 MHz on about +3VDC and not 1 GHz.

Re: 7854 ROM Failure
Glad it worked out. I lost track of the thread but are the images archived somewhere? If not, it would be good to post them on several sites. www.ko4bb.com would be one I would think of. Thanks. Joe

2225 Scope PSU problem
I've just fixed a problem with the PSU in one of my 2225 scopes. It turns out that three capacitors had gone s/c; C986/988/990, all 1000uF/16V electrolytics on the three LV lines +/-8.6V and +5.2V.

It ends up that my paper 7904 manual is incomplete and missing schematic 11 so I have nothing to scan. Some of the earlier schematic pages were inserted backwards so maybe it was disassembled at some

Re: I have a type 585 oscope how much is it worth
No argument; epic but nearly useless because of only 4 cm vertical deflection. I am preserving two 585As with all five plug-ins ever made for it, including the cal unit and both versions of the 81

Re: 7854: Excessive stored trace brightness.
Hi David, When readout intensity is ok then there is not much room left for faults in stored mode waveform intensity. The path for the "intensity setting current" starts at the intensity pot A5R65,
