Re: SC504 Channel Control issues
Greetings!
I made a little progress. One of the delay lines was open. Perhaps that was my interment problem. I fixed that and got CH2 displaying. The problem is (as before I lost both traces) that

Re: SC504 Channel Control issues
Ozan,
J1350 is correctly positioned.
Q4660B and Q1462B are +0.672
Q1460E = -0.42
Q1462E = -0.42
Q3237E 4.2
Q3237B = 3.525
Q3237C = 0.184
Q3236E = 4.288

My comments are inline.

Most likely the delay line is made of a lossy coax (there is an explanation in Tektronix technical series) and it has some resistance from end to end. Shorting at the

The condition of t; his SC504 has changed. I am currently unable to see a trace from either Ch1 or Ch2. From the beginning I have been seeing an intermittent problem of not seeing either channel. If I

Re: Tek 49x Replacement Capacitor List for Power Supplies
Not a list but a good description of how to care for an old 49x analyzer including PSU recapping:
Look for "Service Notes for the Tektronix 49x/275x Spectrum Analyzers (650KB .PDF, 28 pages) "

Re: Tektronix 494AP Option 9
Hello Bruce,
The option 9 increases the low frequency display range down to 1 KHz by replacing the included standard cable
with a special one, Tektronix part number 174-1338-000.

Re: Is it possible that the 151-0367-00 transistor story is horribly wrong?
Keep in mind, of course, that a patent is only a license to sue.? A patent holder would need to be able to prove infringement, have enough wherewithal for lawyers' fees and court costs, and have the

Re: 7603 testing with only one plugin ?
Confirmed: In the horizontal slot, connecting pin A1 (Gate) to pin A8 (+5V) un-blanks the CRT, and a dot appears near the center of the screen.
Now it is possible to plug in ANY suitable plugin into

I'd be happy to re-home one, particularly the non-working one. I'm always up for a fun project if it's got Tektronix written on the front! :D

Re: SC504 Trace Shadow
Scope seems to be in "chop" mode based on the position of "Display" knob. Are you applying the same signal to both channels? You could be seeing Ch1 and Ch2 together, I see that triggering is on Ch2,

Re: SC504 Channel Control issues
Anode of CR1457 is the same node as collector of Q1455. Seeing -0.37 to -0.65V doesn't have an easy explanation when collector of Q1555 is ~ 1V. What voltages do you see at Ch2 hybrid, HY1430, pins 1,

Not only does the Horz plugin in provide the sweep signals it ALSO provides the positioning as well as blanking disable. In the absence of signal the dot is there but it is pulled off the side of the

Re: 7603 testing with only one plugin ?
It's looking like it's pin A1 ("gate").
In the 7A17 (which unblanks the CRT, but does NOT provide a "sweep"), pin A1 is tied to +5 coming in from pin A8.
In a typical sweep plugin (such as 7B50), pin

Re: 7603 testing with only one plugin ?
It just occurred to me that the REASON removing the horizontal plugin blanks the CRT is (probably) because a normal "sweep" plugin needs to support retrace blanking, and (I'm now thinking) that the
