Re: bandwidth
I don't have letters behind my name to make me an expert, but I did write an article some years ago for one of the trade journals, I forget which one, about the "Nyquist Frequency Fable". Two

Re: USB interface for the DPO / P7001
Hi Nenad! You can find many information about the P7001 (and other Tektronix gear) on Tekwiki: https://w140.com/tekwiki/wiki/P7001 The USB interface of a Teensy can behave like a very fast COM port /

To sidestep the math, here's a graphing exercise that seems to work for my students: Draw a sine wave. Pick off N equally spaced samples per cycle, then try to reconstruct by eye the original sine

Re: bandwidth
(not that I really understand all the math) a very simplistic analysis says that you would not be able to resolve a sine wave from discrete samples unless you had at least four (very well placed)

Re: bandwidth
Did you ever try one, Albert? I¡¯ve had several and I wouldn¡¯t agree with spec compliance on that point, unless they¡¯ve all been defective. I blamed my observation on Nyquist vs. 500 Msa/s.

Hi Holger, Nice work, I'm always pleased to see new gadgets bridge the gap between the modern and the vintage. I invested effort into writing software that lets you connect the 7854 to the modern PC

Looks very nice Holger. For the user it's likely far more convenient than your GPIB interface for the DPO. Success, Albert

Re: HV transformer core disassembly
I tapped a razor blade between the two halves at the glue joint and it came apart easily. Maybe it was just a fluke, will know when I try another one. Chuck -- See Early TV at: www.myvintagetv.com

USB interface for the DPO / P7001
Hi everybody! I'm currently in the process of developing a USB interface for the Tektronix DPO (aka P7001). And I'm very happy to tell that my first prototype is now working. I've added some images to

thank You Mark, My bad about +15V, is not regulated rail, but unregulated +15V.., shows 22V. Waveform 161 indicate, thats ok, (21-21.8V).. Others tips i will check soon ..

I'm still quite a way from a successful wind and the only transformers for which I have winding data are the 545B/546/547, 549 and 556. Watch this space! Morris
