Re: 466 no trace or dot
hi Thanks for your response, I have service manual and all PSU voltages seem in acceptable norms. Since i don't have a second scope i think i am a bit stuck.

Re: Type 4041 System Controller Service Manual Wanted.
Correct. Not actually a boot tape but the sys verification tape is required (or any tape with the auto loader pgm) to get to the point where the 4041 can be used. I have no DC100 cartridge, blank or

Re: Tek 465: Are the input coupling capacitors supposed to be soldered in place?
Just plug it back in. They are just PC board sockets. The third wire is the case of the capacitor and gets grounded. It's a shield. Do not solder them in. Tom

Re: Tek 465: Are the input coupling capacitors supposed to be soldered in place?
Can't answer for the Portables group (I worked in Lab 'Scopes), but perhaps it's because it's "Tek-made?" By the time I left Lab 'Scopes engineering in 1980, we soldered every IC directly into the

Re: Front panel layout software ( related to PCB )
Are you asking for software to design front panels with? The PCB software itself should do the job for basic panels. If you want something more like AutoCAD, check out Draftsight.

Tek 465: Are the input coupling capacitors supposed to be soldered in place?
I'm trying to fix the AC coupling for channel 1 on my Tektronix 465. After removing the metal shield labelled "Delicate materials" near the the input connector, I noticed a component (which I assume

Re: Front panel layout software ( related to PCB )
gEDA PCB is good for making a front panel design where you define the outside edge of lines to be the edge to cut to, and put lines arcs, via-circles-to-define-holes on the silkscreen layer, then tell

Re: Front panel layout software ( related to PCB )
I still use my old AutoCAD for both printed circuit board layouts and front panel layouts. Like Bert says, it is too expensive to either upgrade or change operating systems. <stefan_trethan@...>

Re: Front panel layout software ( related to PCB )
Hi, You might want to take a look at Abacoms FrontDesigner. It's not a general purpose CAD program but it is made specifically for designing front panels and the price seems reasonable to me. /Henrik.

Been using Design Cad 2d (now known as Upperspace) for over 25 years for all my drafting and artistic needs and very happy with all I can do with it Costs about $49 and goes back and forth with

Target 3001 (another low end layout software) has very nice frontpanel features, including rotary dials and such like. <http://www.ibfriedrich.com/> ST

If it's just for your own use http://www.progesoft.com/en/smart-2009 Just create polar arrays of your markers. Smart 2009 incidentally has less bugs (if any) than the Pro version in my experience.

Re: trying to chase down a cursor and a focus problem on a 2465
If the scope is a 2465B, this may be a symptom of a well-known problem with leaky SMT electrolytic caps on the display board, as I recall. This issue comes up quite often - in fact, when I first

Front panel layout software ( related to PCB )
While we are somewhat on the subject: A nice pcb often often needs a nice control panel. I used Autocad for this several years ago but it is now way to pricey for my limited needs. Seems like the

Re: TDS 744A colour shutter
I used a 10mm sheet of Nylon cut and milled by a CNC machine. The LCD panel fits perfectly in it and all this staying in the scope aluminum frame. picredburner

trying to chase down a cursor and a focus problem on a 2465
Hi, I'm hoping for a hint in the right direction on two problems I'm trying to solve on a Tek 2465 scope. I've already done the power supply tests in Table 5-1 of the service manual and all voltages
