And that is fine, your choice.
But there are plenty of electricians I will not let near my house,
just as there are plenty of mechanics I will not let near my car.
Everyone should be allowed to educate himself and do a good job on his
own property (sometimes better than the professionals, because they
know what corners they can cut).

Colin Pizzie) because he is so darned quick and competent. I watched him
completely re-wiring our kitchen, power, AV, antenna wiring, during a major
remodelling last year in awe. Eight days that would have taken me forty.
But NOT because I was required to do this because of the law.
