¿ªÔÆÌåÓýGlenn1)Go get a copy of Chester Karras book on negotiating and read it ...( "in business as in life? you don't get what you deserve you get what you negotiate" 2)Remember this is a PAWN SHOP, not your friend or ham buddy.? Turn on the scope don't let the pawn guy see the screen if you can help it.? If you get trace and it doesn't go into "tick mode" , turn down the brightness imediately, shake your head and say .."I was afraid if that". and then turn off the scope act as if you don't want the thing and start looking around the shop at the other "goodies"..Hopefully the pawn guy will make you an offer at this point to take it off his hands. If not wait 10 minutes then offer him $20 and be prepared to go up to say $50 in the negotiation 3) If it goes into tick mode then you know it definitively doesn't work offer him $15 if your into fixing power supplies. 4) If the power light comes on but you get no trace ..then shake it gently and listen to see if the CRT "tinkles" .? If it tinkles like broken glass or bit sloose inside the tube...walk away.. But if no tinkle then? you really are on your own but I wouldn't pay more than $15 but I am as cheap as they come. 5) in the case of 3 &4,? Go prepared with your tools and ask if you can remove the cover to "see if it is all there"..but only after you have agreed on a price Good luck and let us know how it turns out Dave NR1DX On 1/27/2013 12:37 PM, Glenn Little WB4UIV wrote: ? -- Dave Henderson Manuals@...
