My guess is everyone saw the square wave flashing bright and the periodicity
of the loss of sync matching. I do not know enough to know if the apparent
frequency of 1 cycle for both is an artifact of filming or?? However I can
think of nothing that would cause a 1 cycle beat so my guess is that it's
really 60 cycle.

Therefor to me, I would start--- given the fact that the trace goes bright
and dim and the sync problem likely have a single root cause--- in the power
supply. Double check your regulated supplies and make sure they are steady.

Of course before you do any of that, wait for others to weigh in that know
electronics better than I. Perhaps the flash is a phenomena/artifact of
filming and I would be sending you down the quintessential mulberry path.
Because the fact that the scope syncs on the square wave but not on the
sine wave may indicate something in the trigger circuit/tunnel diods (about
which I know 0....well less than zero because I cannot even spell it...).

Good Luck

Here's a new video that could help.

I noticed that and wonder if the relatively low video camera frame
rate is disguising what is really going on.

I would open it up and check the power supplies for voltage and ripple
per the manual. It seems to be jumping sync at a periodic rate.
