Re: removal of push/pull knobs on 422

Isn't there a groove on that rod that drops into a notch in the switch
actuator? I think it should just pop out of the notch.

These knobs seem to have a solid metal rod going from the black knob
on the front panel (hindering panel removal), through the front panel
and back to the inside switch that is actuated by the individual rod.

I hope I don't have to remove all the switches that are connected to
these pull-/pushrods.

I am not familiar with that unit but in some cases the buttons need
to be removed from behind or, rather, the panel must be removed
because the buttons have a larger size behind the panel.

Hi!

This is my first post. I have read a couple of 100 posts here, and I
must say that I am impressed by the commitment of the members of this
group.

I have just figured out one thing that was faulty with my first
Tektronix scope ever; a 15 MHZ model 422 from the 1960's, I guess.
Even though it has serial number 100023 it is equipped with nuvistors
(RCA 8056) on each input. Does anybody know why a 422 with a serial
number above 100000 has nuvistors? Maybe a serial above 100000
indicates an export scope? Maybe I have the 23d scope ever to be
exported?

The problem I had is described here:
(ch-2-deflected-off-scren)/

I have decided to try to transistorise my scope's vertical
amplifiers. While I am waiting for the ordered MPF102 JFETs to arrive
here in Norway, I have started to clean the scope's outer parts;
knobs, panels,connectors, etc.

I have removed all knobs on the front panel, except the push/pull
buttons; POWER, INVERT, X10 GAIN AC and X10 MAG. I do not know how to
remove these buttons. I have to remove them though, to be able to
clean the front plate of the scope.

I am afraid to brake something while attemting to remove these
buttons. Could anone please tell me how to remove these push/pull
buttons?

And, regarding the 2 VOLT PROBE CALIBRATOR, I guess I have to
desolder the wire. Is this correct?
