Hi y'all,
I have been offered a 7L13 in a 7613 and a TR502 in a TM503.
The price of the set seems attractive but before I accept the offer, I'd appreciate your opinions. I haven't owned an SA before and only anticipate checking/playing with some oscillators and filters, just for fun, for experiments and to gain some knowledge. I'm aware of the 7L13's limits re. frequency range (definitely no issue for me) and dynamic range.
I know it's not a high-end SA in general terms and that there are much better instruments. I'd like to know as well whether I'd run into all kinds of issues with this set being "primitive"(?), obsolete so specifically:
- How good is this set at what it's supposed to do?
- Any known electrical or mechanical weaknesses, e.g. deteriorating (plastic) parts? I'm aware of common electrolytic capacitor issues in all vintage equipment.
- Any (other) possible issues that I should look at while inspecting?
