Option 78 for the R7903 is a P11 CRT phosphor. I think that's all there is
to it.

I checked the reference section on reprise and the jug 154-0644-09
goes into a r7903 with opt 78 and nothing else. Is it a special jug?
For example higher PDA voltages and smaller divisions? Mechanical
differences?
