There is a trick to releasing these, but they're also quite brittle. I
machined some replacements from delrin a few years ago (I'm out now), but
there's a 3D model available for printing:

Busted a plastic clip inside only one of the knobs so far while removing
the front panel.

I also learned too late that it's not necessary to remove these little
knobs to get the front panel off.


and noticed that channel 2 on the lowest V/div shows a trace that is one
whole division high even with the input grounded. I'm curious if there is
something wrong with the attenuator on that channel since that is the
channel used for TV, and it came from a TV station.
Have you tried the AUTO DC Balance adjustment? From memory you put CH1 and
CH2 in AC coupling, then pull both switches up.
