I¡¯ve been busy swapping out caps, particularly the 0.01/4kV ones: These include C821, C829, C830 and C854, as well as C852 under the HV assembly. Also changed C841. No change to the situation, although I¡¯ve intermittently had it sweep, albeit with no intensity control and poor focus control.
V800 (6AU5) had an intermittent cathode pin, so I changed the tube out. Still no joy, so I measured voltages, which were still wacky. V800 pin 8 was +160V instead of +90. Pin 1 was +23V instead of -55V. the 325V Unreg supply was a little high but not by much. On V814 (12AU7) pins 1/7 were -72V instead of -2.1V. Pins 2 & 3 voltages are close to correct values per the schematic. I¡¯m suspecting something is wrong between D803, D804 and R804 but can¡¯t find them. Do you know where they¡¯re located?
