I have a few Tex 453 scopes.
Two are oddballs in that they are MOD0703K so they differ a bit from the manuals available, although folks here pinted me at a doc that lists changes.
The biggest difference is that it has the larger CRT 8x10, same as the 453A.
Serial numbers are prefixed with a B, e.g. B021516 and B021836. Most docs seem to indicate teh major family change was serial number >20,000.
The other one is a 453 MOD0730H, serial number 0600794.
Is there a "decoder ring" for Tek serial numbers correlated to date?
I assume these are all non Nuvistor variants (I do not see any Nuvistors on board, but these are very dense circuit wise, and I have not really looked where all boards and devices live.
One of the MOD0703K is missing the center red knob on the sweep selector. Knob is missing, along with the shaft, which appears to go very beep in to the inside. The mechanical drawings of the manuals posted on line are not very clear to show how the shaft coupled to the pot. Looks a bit different than the shaft collars with set screws that are on other pots and dials. Any insights?
