Re: Good Contact Cleaner

The best is Deoxit D5. This is spray stuff but they also make a liquid. In either case apply it using a small brush, an artist's brush. Do not use a cotton swab, they tend to leave lint in the switch. Brush should be a good quality, non=shedding brush.
If the switches are very dirty, I mean visibly dirty, use an electronic cleaner, there are several on the market, followed by the Deoxit. Most switches do not need lubrication but in some cases a small amount of light grease on the (lost a word here) thing that stops the switch, usually a ball bearing. NOT on the contacts.
Cleaning switches may fix it. However, remember that the edge connectors, if any, can also cause problems, same cleaner works on those. Also check for loose screws where ground connections are made. Squirt a drop of Deoxit on them and work them a half a turn back and forth. Cures a surprising number of problems. Good luck and I hope it turns out to be something simple. Also inspect for loose or bad connections. There may be cold solder joints there. Also look for cracked resistors.

hey folks , I have a 922 that is not working on one channel . Before I go real deep in it I thought I would spend some time cleaning switch contacts as I've read that sometimes solves this issue . What is a good contact cleaner to use ? Any other pointers ?
thanks
