Re: 465B - square wave trace shows horozontal line across top of pulses, but not bottom

Kevin,
This looks like it might be a trace blanking problem. The beam is supposed to be turned off while being re-positioned to the left of the screen, but it looks like it is staying on. The retrace is faster than the intentional sweep, so it appears dimmer.
Looking at a triangle or sine waveform might give you a better idea of what is happening.

Hello,

This is my first post here.

I have a 465B that displays something strange when I probe the test
calibrator. The top pulses are connected with a weaker horizontal line in
between the actual top horizontal line of the pulses, but that does not happen
on the bottom. If I flip the slope switch on the trigger, then that inverts to
having the continuous horizontal line on the bottom instead, but not the top.
It seems to happen when I probe the calibrator on my other scope with my 465B
as well.
It also happens with two different probes, a P6105 and one of those cheapo
"TP6100"s.

I am wondering if anyone might have any thoughts on what may be the cause of
that? Or could it be user error of some sort? I am just getting back into
electornics as a hobby so I am quite rusty.
