Hi Siggi,
Video suggests A sweep is OK on Christophe's scope. The video starts with
B sweep but towards the end A sweep only is active and it looks like there
is full sweep in all the time/div settings. I may be misinterpreting the
video.
I may also be misinterpreting the video, it was hard to follow the rapid
knob twiddling and the OSD was too washed out for me to see which sweep is
active. It's surprisingly difficult to get good video or photos of these
CRTs, as apparently the camera does not see as the eye does.
In any case I think an organized approach, using the scientific method,
should allow quickly isolating this to a block (likely A or B sweep) and
then to a component (likely a timing capacitor or a switching component).
If this affects only the A sweep at the lowest speeds, then my bet would be
on A1Q709/A1C709.
It's also an outside possibility that this is a calibration issue, as the
sweep hybrids take a timing "reference" from the A5 board. Look for A/B TIM
REF signals on the A1 and A5 boards.
I'm sure Christophe will isolate this in quick order :).
