Re: 7A19 Fuse (later model, on attenuator - thin film?)

I think I may have answered my own question. A glass fuse rated at 0.2A and 1 1/4" long has a resistance of about 6.75 ohms. To get down to 0.3 ohms using the 0.2A rated wire from such a fuse would require the wire to be about 0.055" long. That says "thin-film" pretty clearly to me. I very much doubt that a repair of the type I had in mind is possible at all. I'll leave my blown fuse in the acetone for about a week and see if I can open it out of curiosity. This may also explain the blown 10x attenuator. A fuse this tiny could arc over if a high enough voltage is applied, exposing downstream components to damage. Most glass fuses are rated to reliably interrupt up to 250 volts because of their length.

Does anyone have this fuse PN 159-0198-00 used in the 7A19 and the 7A24? I'm looking for 2 of them.
