Awesome. This is EXACTLY what I am looking for. Not someone to tell me "replace this part and it will work, but just point me to a general area. Funny, My brother (very knowledgeable in electronics) was just telling me about "bootstrapping" the power supply and he gave almost the same advice. I appreciate this hint, I know the level of experience that you bring to the table! I will take it from here and let everyone know what I find. Maybe there is hope for this thing after all. The repair is important, but the education and knowledge gained is priceless. I greatly appreciate all the helpful and educational feedback from everyone.
