First, I would like to hear from everyone who owns a 7F10.
Please reply OFF-LIST to dennis at ridesoft dot com if you own one.
Next, the 7F10 is the only 7K plugin I own (I have them all) that I have
never been able to use because I haven't found a Diamond 3.5mm fiber that I
can connect to it.
I suspect everyone that owns a 7F10 has the same problem.
I know very little about fiber optics but I can say from searching the
internet that these connectors do not exist anywhere anymore. I have looked
everywhere for them and for fiber adapters to no avail.
That leaves only one choice that I am aware of: Splice a pigtail with a
current optical fiber connector on it onto the fiber inside the front end of
the 7F10.
I have been told that inside the optical to electrical package there is
probably a spare length of fiber that is there specifically so you can
replace the Diamond connector by splicing a pigtail with a more common fiber
connector in its place.
I am willing to look into someone who can do this if enough people are
interested.
Again, reply OFF-LIST to dennis at ridesoft dot com if you are interested in
pursuing this.
