TEST 4 FAIL 10 is nothing to worry about -- it is dead battery in Dallas
NVRAM chip. You'll have to replace it with a new NVRAM (buy it from DigiKey
or Mouser, not from Ebay so you'll get a really fresh one, not something at
the end of its life) or, better yet, with FRAM and recalibrate.

There is no separate battery in 2467B (don't know if 2467B was ever made
with separate readout board and A5 with DIP chips as older 2465B were; those
had a separate LTC-7P battery that is also available from DigiKey) so you'll
have to remove a 32-pin DIP brick which requires some desoldering station or
accurate work with solder wick. It is worth installing a socket once old
chip is removed so you won't have to unsolder it next time. It is a brick
with all pins underneath so you won't be able to cut the pins and then
remove them one-by-one so it might be tricky if you don't have a desoldering
station.

Other than that it is wonderful scope and MCP CRT allows you to clearly see
that infamous fast edge from tunnel diode pulser at 100kHz repetition rate.
You won't see it on 2465B at daylight, it will be very dim on a regular CRT.

I have 2467B as my primary scope with 1GHz LeCroy DSO sitting on the desk
for some very rare occasional jobs that require digital storage. LeCroy gets
powered on once, maybe twice a year and it is not anywhere near 2467B in
signal display quality and not as easy to use as 2467B is. I even have a
spare 2467B sitting on the shelf, just in case :)

Hi all, a local seller is offering a Tektronix 2467B for around $300 USD.
The catch is it has an error code TEST 4 FAIL 10 at power on and claims it
just requires re-calibration. Would any knowledgeable members be willing
to recommend for or against purchase? My current understanding is that
re-calibration is quite involved and that it could also be potentially be
a hardware issue, such as an NVRAM module not storing the calibration
settings. It is a nice machine so I am tempted. Thanks in advance. J
