Vincent,
It would be worth your while to do some searching at

Yeah that was my point, NOT having to force every present and future TDS owner to spend his life time searching the web, and possibly still missing useful information, or possibly, easily, getting confused between the many models and suffixes, or taking obsolete or inaccurate or partial/incomplete information for granted, ending doing something bad potentially.

I guess we could also take the Tekwiki down as well ? After all, what's the point of centralizing all this great info for everyone's convenience, when it's all out there on the web, and one just needs to search for it ?!....

To the person actually in charge of Tekwiki and who is reading this list I believe : I AM kidding... I love Tekwiki of course, hope that's clear... ^^

Anyway, I guess every one is different, I will just have to live with this jungle of scattered pieces of info I guess... too bad for me, and lucky for those who love it this way so much. I guess the TDS scopes just aren't worth enough to most people, so they don't really care that much. They just fix theirs and don't look any further.

Yeah, a bit disappointed I admit, but I will live with it ;-)
That was one opinion. I'll counter with mine and say that I'd like to
see it collected. Many times the search engines don't quite know
where to look. (tek owner's help list is perhaps not on a search
engine). Often, search engines look for matches that are too precise,
and at other times TEK 540 will give you all the TEK stuff, all the
540 stuff, and several dozen ads from Amazon telling you that you can
buy "Tek 540" and outrageously small prices.

I've got a TDS 540A, and one that doesn't have a working acquisition
board (yet), so I could work with the parts unit and see what might
work, IF I had a reasonable suspicion that the A could be modified as
well as the B could.
