Re: [Admin] groups.io settings.

Some list owners just don't want anything but new messages. I don't think that's the case here but some will nag you if you don't trim pretty thoroughly and some don't understand that the archive won't get messages that are responded to only to the original poster.

Hi Richard,
I know, but the thread history is lost for old plain e-mail users like me.
If this is a desired "feature" I respect it, of course.
But maybe its just a default setting that is confusing list members like me.

Sebastian.

The web site does have a "Topics" button that when clicked
groups messages with the same Subject header.
There is a pull-down menu under Messages labeled Topics but
I think its really threads. It does not bring up quoted messages
but, presumably, the idea is that one can follow the thread of
responses back to the original post.
I agree that eliminating quoted material is probably a way
to reduce overhead.

Hi Dennis,

When one list member replies to a message from the web interface, the
previous thread history is lost in the body of the message.

Maybe the reason is to avoid excessive overhead?
From my humble point of view, this is pretty inconvenient and confuse.
As
I prefer the e-mail channel, it's more clear and efficient to have the
thread history directly below the last post.

Could it be possible to enable this behavior in the web interface?

Sebastian.
