Hi Kurt,
I can dig up the names of the designers of some of the Tek instruments. I may even be able to get in touch with some of them to see if they were willing to share the history of the instrument. Because some former Tek employees might prefer their privacy they would need to be contacted first to get permission to connect him/her with the TekWiki editor who has volunteered to take responsibility for that particular instrument.

I agree that it would be great to have a list of options for each instrument. And I agree that the information is not easy to find.
I'm happy to make a Tekwiki account for anyone who emails me and requests an account. This formality is just to keep out the bots that post junk on wikis. (This has been a problem in the past.) Some people in the Tek community don't want to mess around with the wiki directly and, instead, tend to email me corrections and things to add. That's fine, too.
The 7603 page () is probably the best overall Tekwiki page, currently. Of course, it could be better in many ways (e.g., it lacks history about the instrument (e.g., who designed it), it lacks discussion of the circuitry, it lacks context in terms of how it compared with other models, etc). But it is pretty good with listing the options.
