p.s. ?Oh, and the glow you reported on the CRT when the beam is all the way to one side of the sweep appears to be normal. ?The beam is either hitting the side of the phosphor or perhaps the envelope and scattering off it. ?In normal operation it should be blanked when it's so far off screen, so this should go away when you get the other problems fixed.
