Hello machineguy and all,

The updates are done, all of the printers have been installed, the machine is on the network, the sound system is working again, and the display is back up. The display went away several months ago. I narrowed it down to either/or the motherboard, processor. But since the rest of the system was still working I lived with it. I was only using it as a print server and surround sound system. Not having a display was no big deal until the audio system failed. As most of us know changing the motherboard and/or processor almost always entails reinstalling Windoze. That is what I miss about my Amiga. You can change the hardware in a major way and not have to reinstall the OS. You can't even do that with Linux. It actually it turned out to be both the MB and Processor. Argh! For now I have fallen back to a AMD 1.1 GHz MB and Processor. I have another MB on the way and I have a good 3.0 GHz P4. So I will be doing all of this again in a week or so but I have good disks now. I'm not going to install any additional software for now. Thanks all, rich!
