I have some close areas as well and simple aluminum speed tape works well. ?Clean the contact area well and seal the edges with RTV and it lasts a good long time

Mine is close in a couple spots. Slight discoloration on the inside of cowl but the paint is fine.?

Mine aren't that close, but in areas where the pipes were closest I used some aluminized fiberglass stick-on heat barrier on the cowl. It's cheap and easy. Aluminized Heat Shield Thermal Barrier

If you are concerned, i would clamp a heat deflector to the pipe in those areas. I think vans aircraft had some.? I think that would work better than wrapping the pipe or putting something on the

I have the Max Aero/ Madden cowl. I have about 5/8 clearance between the exhaust pipe and the cowl in a couple of spots. What is too close? Should I wrap the pipe and/or install a heat barrier on
