Straight G10 has a density of around 0.065 lb/cubic inch, according to Google University. ? So 10 BF = ?1440 cubic inches x 0.065 lb/cubic inch = about 94 pounds. ? So a little light, especially considering that assumes a full 1¡± thick everywhere, which isn¡¯t correct. ? ?So some area near the bottom of the board gets carved out and filled with lead shot encapsulated in epoxy. ? And that extra weight, around 20 pounds but more is OK, is all the way at the bottom of the board, or damn close to it. ?Yeah, more effort to lift, but more righting moment under sail, too. ?
