Maybe a silly question, but has anybody considered fabricating a new centerboard out of solid G10? ? Yes, I¡¯d still epoxy it, and yes, it would be initially expensive; but no, it would never delaminate because of rusting steel¡I¡¯m thinking, the whole slab out of 1/2¡± G10, with 1/4¡± fiberglass plate laminated onto it wherever it needs to exceed 1/2¡±, then ground/faired to shape. ?Fiberglass is a mess, sure, but not that difficult to grind down/fair, especially if it isn¡¯t too built-up in the first place, which is why to laminate the 1/4¡± stuff. ?It¡¯s pretty dense, too. ? I don¡¯t think it would take much ballast at all to make it weigh around 116 pounds. ? And if it exceeded that, well, OK¡ª-that¡¯s about the best place to put any additional weight for righting moment. ?Thoughts?

??I was given! #610 in the fall, and worked on her through the winter to get her up ready for this summer. When the boat was in the travelift on the way to being launched, I had the centerboard lowered, just to make sure that there were no issues. The news was not good. I've attached pictures. I don't know if this can be repaired or whether I need to find a replacement. But sadly the boat is back in the supports. Any ideas would be welcome.
