Re: Admin? Activity?
I'm still here, but only reading. I agree it would be good to not lose the valuable reference info that's been posted here over many years. All the best for the 2024 sailing season! Tony H.

Re: Minifish
The Minifish has a hiking strap that runs across the cockpit sideways as opposed to the fore-aft strap in Sunfish.?The configuration is convenient in that it allows the sailor to sit inside and

Re: Minifish
Yes, the rig is a bit high. Attach the halyard higher on the gaff (upper spar). Also, slide your boom about 4" forward on the gooseneck. I don't think Minifish have a hiking strap, but hook your

Re: Daggerboard leak #daggerboard
Inspection ports may be useful for repair from inside if necessary. But I dried my 88 SF without inspection ports. I opened the drain hole (starboard side of deck near splashguard) and a drain hole

Re: Daggerboard leak #daggerboard
Thanks. The rear surface of the slot running inside the boat, seems to be wood. I can pull out splinters.

Re: Daggerboard leak #daggerboard
I presume you meant hole in fiberglass and not wood. If this is the first time you have had a water leak issue I would not rush to drying the boat out with inspection ports. Drain all the water you

Re: Free hulls!!! Will deliver locally!!!
I’ve got four great boats (2002, 1999, 1988 & 1969) and two sailors (me and my wife). I do not have the time or inclination to do the work necessary to add three more boats to my fleet. That is why

Bots should not be taught to sale -- they cause enough trouble as it is using computers on the Internet. If we are not careful, they will take over the world.

Re: Free hulls!!! Will deliver locally!!!
Never cut up a hull. I found my sunfish on its side against a shed. It’s a 1977 and had been out in the weather for many, many years. I put an new inspection cover in it, a new drain, dried it
