Never cut up a hull.? I found my sunfish on its side against a shed.? It’s a 1977 and had been out in the weather for many, many years.? I put an new ?inspection cover in it, a new drain, dried it out, painted the deck, ?reinforced the
rudder mounting, put on some new hardware and have been sailing it regularly now for about 4 years.? It did come with a mast and spars which had also been outside.? Got it for the price of hauling it away.

Hi Bob,
We sail on Lake Michigan. If you can avoid cutting up the hulls do! A few years ago a member of my club used a SawsAll to cut up a derelict
Sunfish hull. He said he would never?do that again. The fiberglass dust on his skin drove him nuts for days. Maybe a full Tyvek suit and really good respirator would work. Good luck.

Hi all,
I have three hulls of various ages. All of them are fiberglass.? One of them is sworn to be from 1959. The guy that gave it to me swears he sailed it on a lake in central Massachusetts in 1959 as he moved to Cape Cod in spring 1960. This is strange as I don’t
think they made fiberglass hulls till 1960. Could it be one of the early prototype gifts of the Alcort guys gave

to friends?
The others are in decent shape but need attention.?
Unfortunately I will have to cut these up and take them to the dump unless I can give them away.?
Contact me for more detailed photos if you’re interested. Otherwise it’s off to Sunfish heaven for these poor souls.?
I am also considering selling a 1969 in as near mint condition as it could be. I don’t need it as I have recently purchased a 2002 that suits my age better. I don’t want to part
with it but it should be out on the water not in my back yard ?
