I think I will stick with the "standard" Super
Sunfish Rig and hone my skills on it. My buddy has
a "regular" Sunfish and I am able to sail it
whenever I want. As for the racing daggerboard and
hiking strap, those seem to be a little "advanced"
for me at this stage. I keeled her over to what
seemed like 45 degrees or more the other day and
almost wiped out. I think I'll keep an even keel
until I'm more familiar with my "what to do in this
situation" awareness is more developed.
I enjoy reading the group postings and look forward
to joining a local sailing group at my marina
soon. This should provide much needed crew
experience.

Here's the Prtsmouth handicaps for the racing fish and
the super.
Sunfish (Int.) SF 99.6
Super Sunfish SSF 100.7
Note: for handicap racing the Super requires the
standard wooden daggerboard for it's handicap.
Add the plastic fantastic daggerboard to a super and
you'll challenge the lazers at their 91 handicap.
