No Crank/Start

Prior to attempting to install a Tribeca alternator into my 1994 Subaru Legacy motor, everything was working properly.

The newer style alternator has a different plug so I was trying to rewire the alternator but most of screwed something up. Now the engine isn't cranking, the fuel pump doesn't come on and the relays don't cycle. I've been scratching my head trying to figure out what went wrong. The fuses at the junction box are intact.? There is 12 v at the junction box and Starter, however when the KEY is turned to the START? position the voltage drops to about 5 volts.??I'm a novice at the electrical stuff, so I'm looking for some advice.? Thank YOu?

It's something you did. Retrace everything you did. Connect the two green test connectors and turn the key to ON. If the FP and relays don't? cycle you are missing ignition+ and/or battery+ to the harness. Are you sure the fuses for these are still good? What connector did you have on the original alt and what is the new one? Pics?

Wayne's feedback is very good.? I'd suggest starting your troubleshooting process by checking the fuses that were installed as part of your conversion.? Most are likely located in the engine bay black box.
My money's on:
1: Blown Fuse
2: Bad connection

Best,
Brent

First thing I would check is Battery Voltage.
( If voltage is low,,,
My guess is that you've wired in the new Alternator wrong.

Hoping this is resolved since it is an older thread but. . .I had a crank/no start recently on a SVX. This was after reinstalling a radio, cigarette lighter and electrical volt meter behind the dash. I retraced and cleaned everything, literally. with no luck. Replaced ECU with no luck. No CEL codes so assumption was cam and crank sensors were good. I replaced the main relay and fuel pump relay out of frustration even though they tested okay. Started right up with much joy!

On a side note, hope all our West Coast brethren are okay.
