Re: List of Subaru repair vendors/shops?
Vivid used to be up here in BC too. They were not known for being particularly good about getting repairs done on time and also they’d take piles of money upfront and there was some reports of

Re: Kennedy kit catalytic converter
I just replaced my catalytic converter with the Walker, purchased directly from Kennedy. They were wonderful to deal with, and prompt. I received a copy of the executive order and the plate that comes

Re: List of Subaru repair vendors/shops?
The VanAlert app and it's list of Vanagon repair shops is good. Here's another list: http://www.roadhaus.com/shops.php Also, IIRC, the OP wanted references to shops that do work on Subaru

Re: Kennedy kit catalytic converter
I believe that for CA the KEP catalytic converter is the Walker cat, which you can get from KEP. I decided to get the same cat from SCP (

Re: bogging
Bogging happens warm or cold. Just more evident when warm. Its not coolant sensor. Been replaced 2 yrs ago and is reading correctly. Sean G

Re: bogging
Seems the bogging starts with a warm engine. Check the coolant temp sensor. Knock sensor is also critical to smooth engine operation, sort that out also. Todd

Re: bogging
Certainly sounds like it could be running lean, what's the long term fuel trim and front o2 sensor read with your scan gauge? If it's not a fueling issue or the o2 sensor is borked and it thinks

Re: bogging
Update, as engine reached a good operating temperature, I experienced (city driving, stop and go) 3xtreme bucking, stalling at lights, surging low idle at lights, popping sound during acceleration

I have a Scan Gauge on my laptop. I can get live data while I drive. Is there anyone on the list that could tell me if any values /data I get could be suspect ? Like O2(pre cat), advance, etc… temp

Re: bogging
Was the lean condition that burnt a valve cured? Sounds like it might be related to this bogging? Is the fuel pump delivering enough pressure? When was the last time the fuel filter was replaced? The

Re: bogging
I lost a valve on cyl 3. Big chunk out of it. My mechanic said it was due to lean running condition. I have had a persistent bogging issue for almost 2 yrs and unable to solve it here in Phoenix.

Re: bogging
Hey Sean. Sadly, we can’t just point to one cause. My first choice (and easiest to resolve) would be the accelerator linkage. Make sure everything’s moving smoothly and the cable is taut. If your

Re: Motor not started in 12 months
Yup. That’d do it! In fact, having the plugs out when you first crank her will lower compression and allow you to get the oil flow going faster anyway! Brent

I can definitely do a spacer. Thanks for the advice.

Re: Motor not started in 12 months
Good approach....where exactly is igniter module, what does it look like?? Would just leaving spark plug wires disconnected for a few cranks do the same thing?
