Thanks for taking and documenting the journey. A great benefit for the rest of us. A couple follow up questions... What is "solid gas milage" in your case? Did you end up putting in a neutral switch?

Last night I cleaned my exhaust joints and reattached, paying close attention to fit. I added muffler sealant too. Checked and no leaks that I could find this am. Went for a drive and my idle stumble

SixStar Bernie on Ebay for Sixstar headgaskets and Subaru gaskets. Rockauto for Felpro gaskets (half the price of SixStar), Gates timing belt kit (caution:may contain Chinese idlers) or Aisin timing

I¡¯ve had real good luck with a seller on Ebay, sixstarbernie . He has both official Subaru parts and alternative parts from Japanese or Subaru suppliers. He seems very knowledgeably on Subaru parts.

I have noticed that when My VDubaru has an Exhaust Leak Upstream of Either O2Snsr I will feel what I call "Acceleration Stepping" (instead of the normal Silky Smooth Acceleration I feel a few almost

Thank you Brent, was actually thinking about the shop vac myself! Didn't think about soapy water and so I will do that too... Exhaust leaks can cause all sorts of funkiness, fingers crossed it also

Scot. The cv axle mounted vss units are a popular item amongst the subaruvanagon conversion crowd. Some vendor supplied earlier models had weak magnets but that problem has long ago been resolved.
